Zelenskyy emphasized that several urgent priorities remain at the center of Ukraine’s discussions with its allies. Among these issues are national security, international assistance to maintain Ukraine’s resilience, and additional packages aimed at strengthening the country’s defense. He noted that Kyiv places particular importance on enhanced air defense systems and reliable long term financial backing to support the military and civilian infrastructure affected by continuing attacks.
The president also spoke about recent negotiations held between Ukrainian officials and United States envoys. Ukraine’s delegation was led by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov along with the Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov. According to Zelenskyy, these meetings involved what he described as substantive discussions on potential adjustments Washington may consider in its dialogue with both Kyiv and Moscow. The Ukrainian team has returned to Europe, and Zelenskyy said he expects a full briefing on all topics addressed during their encounters in Moscow and with United States representatives.
Zelenskyy reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to pursuing what he called a dignified peace. He stressed that the possibility of achieving such a peace is entirely dependent on Russia’s actions and on the extent to which the international community maintains collective pressure. According to Zelenskyy, Russia bears responsibility for daily assaults on Ukrainian territory, for the constant terror directed at civilians, and for sustaining the conflict that has disrupted millions of lives. Over the weekend, Russia continued launching drone and missile attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian officials reported that the strikes focused heavily on critical energy facilities during a period when infrastructure remains vulnerable to winter conditions.
New Russian strikes prompt Zelenskyy to urge tougher international collective pressure
Ukraine’s air force stated on Monday morning that Russia fired one hundred forty nine drones overnight. Ukrainian defenses intercepted or neutralized one hundred thirty one of them, preventing even greater destruction. The Ministry of Energy reported that the latest waves of attacks caused power outages in several regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Chernihiv.
Ukraine also maintained its own long range operations. Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that its forces shot down at least sixty seven Ukrainian drones, including two near the Moscow region, as the cycle of strikes from both sides persisted despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.
