Although a single point would have been enough to qualify, the Netherlands played aggressively for the win. In the 16th minute, Frenkie de Jong delivered a precise cross into the box, where Tijani Raiders controlled the ball and scored. Shortly before halftime, Manchester City’s midfielder came close to doubling the lead, but his shot struck the post.

The Dutch secured their dominance with three rapid goals just after the break. At the 58th minute, Cody Gakpo converted a penalty after a handball inside Lithuania’s box. Two minutes later, Javi Simmons unleashed a powerful strike assisted by Gakpo to make it 3-0. In a separate group game, Poland defeated Malta 3-2, earning their playoff spot. The Netherlands now lead the group with 20 points from 8 matches, followed by Poland with 17 points. Finland (10), Malta (5), and Lithuania (3) have been eliminated.
