Manchester United finally found some relief. By defeating Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford, coach Ruben Amorim’s team was able to ease some of the pressure. In this exciting Premier League match, both teams saw two red cards in the first half, with each side losing a player.
Chelsea ran into trouble early in the match. Just five minutes in, goalkeeper Robert Sanchez received a red card for fouling United forward Brian Embemo. The home team quickly capitalized on the advantage, with Bruno Fernandes scoring at the 14th minute to give Manchester United the lead. Then, at 37 minutes, Casemiro doubled the lead with a header from a Harry Maguire corner. However, Casemiro was soon shown a second yellow card and sent off, reducing both teams to equal numbers again.

After the red cards in the first half, Chelsea came under considerable pressure. Coach Enzo Maiersa was forced to substitute Estevao and Pedro Neto. Neto was so frustrated that he shouted angrily while leaving the pitch. Soon after, Cole Palmer left the field due to injury, weakening the London club’s attacking trio and putting them in a difficult position.
Although Chelsea controlled possession for much of the second half, they failed to create effective attacks. Trevor Chalobah’s goal in the 80th minute raised some hope but was not enough to save the match.
In the end, Manchester United left the field with the win. This was only their second victory of the season but a major relief nonetheless. After a 3-0 defeat in last week’s City derby and facing harsh criticism, the team played much more aggressively this time, which brought the desired result.
