President Donald Trump announced new tariffs on a range of products, including cabinets, trucks, pharmaceuticals, and upholstered furniture, via social media posts on Thursday. Starting October 1, a 50% tariff will be imposed on all cabinets, bathroom vanities, and related items due to what Trump described as a “flooding” of these goods from other countries. Additionally, a 30% tariff will apply to upholstered furniture, and a 25% tariff on all heavy trucks imported from abroad. Trump also declared a 100% tariff on branded or patented pharmaceuticals unless the companies are actively manufacturing in the U.S.

On the same day, Trump signed several executive orders in the Oval Office, including one related to TikTok’s U.S. operations, which would divest the app from its Chinese owner ByteDance. Trump said the agreement ensures TikTok can operate safely in the U.S., with American investors controlling the algorithm.

Donald Trump also signed a presidential memorandum targeting what he called a rise in far-left domestic terrorism, singling out groups like “Antifa” and vowing to investigate their funders. He blamed “radical left rhetoric” for a recent shooting at a Dallas ICE facility, despite no evidence supporting this claim.

Furthermore, Trump directed Attorney General Pam Bondi and U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to implement the death penalty in Washington, D.C., for eligible murders, despite the city having abolished the death penalty in 1981.

During his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the White House, Trump emphasized his administration’s tough stance and addressed ongoing investigations, including comments on former FBI Director James Comey, whom he criticized harshly.
