Cristiano Ronaldo Crowned ‘Best of All Time’ by Liga Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo has been officially named the Best of All Time by Liga Portugal, adding yet another honor to his legendary career.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is already the highest scorer in men’s international football, with 141 goals in 223 appearances.

“Cristiano Ronaldo defined an era. His talent, determination, and countless records make him the best of all time,” Liga Portugal said in a statement.

Although unable to attend the ceremony, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude through a video message. “It’s a great honor to receive this award,” he said. “I thank my teammates, coaches, and everyone who supported me throughout my journey. This award is for all of them.”

The Al Nassr forward continues to set records with Portugal, recently equaling Guatemala’s Carlos Ruiz as the all-time top scorer in World Cup qualifying with 39 goals.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s Viktor Gyökeres was named Liga Portugal Player of the Year for the second straight season after netting 54 goals across competitions for Sporting CP, including 39 in the league. His scoring heroics helped secure Sporting’s title defense before he moved to English club Arsenal.

“It’s a huge honor,” Gyökeres said. “Thanks to my teammates, coaches, and fans, we won both the league and the cup.”
