The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has strongly condemned Israel’s strike on Hamas leaders in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, medical officials report that at least 42 people have been killed by Israeli bombardments today, including 14 members of a single family.
Israeli Raids in the West Bank
Alongside its ongoing offensive in Tulkarem, Israeli forces have carried out raids and arrests across several governorates in the occupied West Bank, including Ramallah, Hebron, and Nablus.
According to the Wafa news agency, Israeli troops:
- Seized a Palestinian home in Beitin near Ramallah, converting it into a military post.
- Stormed Beit Ummar near Hebron, arresting one man, erecting checkpoints, and searching multiple homes.
- Raided ad-Dhahiriya near Hebron, detaining an elderly man and his son, while also targeting a nearby cattle market.
- Entered the town of Qusra near Nablus, though no arrests were reported.
The crackdown in Tulkarem follows an incident in which an Israeli armored vehicle was damaged by an explosive device, injuring two soldiers. In response, the Israeli military has imposed a curfew, rounding up hundreds of Palestinians from cafes, businesses, and restaurants, and forcing them to march to a military checkpoint.

Al Jazeera correspondent Nida Ibrahim described the campaign as a “show of humiliation,” saying Israeli forces aim to demonstrate that “any incident they deem threatening will be met with punishment not just against perpetrators, but entire communities.”
Rising Death Toll in Gaza
Hospital sources in Gaza confirm that 42 people have been killed in today’s air raids. Thirty-three of the victims were in Gaza City and other parts of northern Gaza. One of the latest casualties was reported in Sheikh Radwan, where an airstrike hit an apartment building.
Qatar Welcomes UNSC Condemnation
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani praised the Security Council for condemning what he called the “treacherous” Israeli attack on Doha.
In a social media post, he reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to its “humanitarian and diplomatic role” and its right to defend sovereignty and security.
Before Tuesday’s emergency session, all 15 UNSC members issued a joint statement expressing “deep regret at the loss of civilian life” and solidarity with Qatar though the statement did not explicitly name Israel.
Addressing the Council, Sheikh Mohammed warned that the strike on Doha “puts the international community to the test.”
