Roughly 30 minutes later, a child was shot in the abdomen near a tailgate area at Jackson State University Stadium and was taken to a hospital, officials said.
Additionally, on Friday night, two people were killed in a shooting on the grounds of a high school in Heidelberg, Mississippi. Authorities later detained an 18-year-old man for questioning.
