Donald Trump has called for Israel to “immediately” Ceasefire bombing Gaza following Hamas’s partial acceptance of his ultimatum to end the nearly two-year conflict. Hamas agreed to release all hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails and to hand over governance of Gaza to an independent Palestinian authority, in line with Trump’s peace plan. However, Hamas requested further negotiations on other aspects, including whether it would disarm, a key condition in Trump’s proposal.
Trump expressed optimism on social media, stating he believes Hamas is ready for lasting peace and urged Israel to halt bombing to allow for the safe release of hostages. He emphasized that the peace plan aims at broader Middle East stability, not just Gaza. Israel, meanwhile, announced preparations to implement the first phase of the plan releasing hostages while continuing cooperation with Trump’s team, without directly addressing the demand to stop the bombings.
Gaza Ceasefire

Despite Trump’s call, Gaza experienced dozens of Israeli airstrikes and shelling, causing casualties and destruction. Hamas reiterated its commitment to the prisoner exchange and transferring Gaza’s administration but highlighted the need for further talks on other issues, like arms and troop withdrawals.
Trump’s peace plan includes an immediate ceasefire, a hostage and prisoner swap within 72 hours, gradual Israeli withdrawal, Hamas disarmament, and a transitional authority overseen by Trump, along with increased aid and reconstruction for Gaza, which is experiencing severe hardship after years of conflict.
